Description Forum Helveticum
The Forum Helveticum (FH) is an association of organisations that are active in linguistic and cultural fields. Some members (e.g. SRG and Swiss Post) have close ties to the federal government, while others are enterprises or institutions in the fields of education and politics. The Forum was set up in 1968 as a platform for meeting and discussion and is committed to fostering cultural and linguistic understanding between the different linguistic communities in Switzerland.
In November, the FH is organising a conference for its members for the first time. The conference will be held in Bern on the theme of ‘Digital language tools in the day-to-day work of multilingual organisations’.
SWISS TXT will be organising a workshop on the topic of ‘Breaking down language barriers, promoting inclusion: Success strategies for organisations’
This workshop will present practical tools to support organisations in overcoming language barriers in internal and external communication. These include live transcripts and automatic translations for meetings. There will also be a focus on including and integrating sign language in communication processes.
SWISS TXT will shed light on where the challenges and limitations lie and highlight some concrete measures that can sustainably promote linguistic inclusion in companies.
The workshop will be organised by Dalia Goldberger, Deputy Head of Business Development, and Nico Roos, Head of Technology, Accessibility Services.
SWISS TXT will also take part in the concluding panel discussion.
