About us SWISS TXT

SWISS TXT is a subsidiary of SRG SSR (public Swiss broadcaster), which offers ICT/infrastructure and accessibility services. With 313 employees at 6 different sites (Biel, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich and Comano), SWISS TXT is represented across Switzerland in all languages. SWISS TXT mainly offers its services within the SRG group but has also been reaching out to outside customers since 1983.

Integration of SWISS TXT into SRG

As part of a comprehensive transformation project, SRG is reorganising its structure. This has already been reported in the media. The main drivers are changing media consumption patterns, ongoing digitalisation, increasing competition, and a significantly reduced financial framework. With the new organisation, SRG is ensuring its long-term viability and becoming more digital, agile, and leaner.

Against this backdrop, key functions will in future be managed across SRG as a whole, supported by regionally anchored expert teams.

As part of this reorganisation, SWISS TXT will be integrated into SRG and dissolved as an independent subsidiary. All existing services will be fully incorporated into SRG’s structures.

For our customers, this means:

  • Continuity of existing services and offerings

  • Stronger integration into a high-performance, SRG-wide infrastructure

  • Improved scalability and future viability of services

  • Consistent focus on digital developments and innovation

SRG thus ensures that the existing expertise of SWISS TXT will continue to be provided at a high level of quality in the future.

Strategic focus SRG ICT centre of excellence

SRG provides a multimedia public service in all regions and national languages of Switzerland. Its subsidiary SWISS TXT also helps it to carry out this unique mission. SWISS TXT is the centre of excellence of SRG and focuses on infrastructure, digital and distribution services.

Strategic focus Accessibility Services

Accessibility Services enable people with sensory disabilities to have access to multimedia content through the use of subtitling/live text, sign language and audio description. SRG SSR has been relying on SWISS TXT for over 30 years, especially for subtitling all SRG channels (SRF, RTS, RSI). SWISS TXT also offers select accessibility services.
