News Fist Liveaccess Event in Ticino
On Saturday 30 September a training day on cochlear implants, organised by the association ATiDU, was held in Bellinzona. We were contacted to provide the LiveAccess service, because it would be the only way for some of the hearing-impaired attendees to follow the conference. We were delighted to receive this invitation and organised all the necessary work.
Description ATiDU conference on cochlear implants
Respeakers Veronica Leoni and Eloisa Mascitti did the live subtitling from the office in Comano, while editorial manager Sheila Buzzi Gilardi, deputy manager Giovanni Guerini, and team leader Luca Selvitella travelled to Bellinzona to attend the conference in person and to present the services offered by SWISS TXT’s Accessibility Services department.
The transcription service was much appreciated by the entire audience, not just those for whom it had been organised. Many participants began to take photos of the screen displaying the text of the various talks.
The day also provided an opportunity to make contact with organisations in the area that offer help, support and training to deaf and hearing-impaired people.
